Are you an experienced surgical or certified veterinary technician looking for an opportunity to utilize your extensive technical skills in surgery, anesthesia and exam rooms? Boston Veterinary Clinic is a fast-paced and progressive multi-doctor practice looking for top-notch experienced professionals to join our team at Wellesley clinic! We currently operate 5 clinics in Boston's Seaport, South End, Coolidge Corner, Brookline, Charlestown and Wellesley. Our clinics are state-of-the-art with Surgivet monitoring (EtCO2, O2 sat, ECG, BP, body temperature, etc.), digital dental and general radiology, Sevoflurane, ultrasound, etc. We encourage career-minded technicians to submit their resumes and join Boston Veterinary Clinic, where we pride ourselves on being our clients’ “other family doctor”. A successful candidate for our Technician position will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and will possess the following skills: Extensive knowledge on preventative care topics such as vaccines and parasite protection, Drug calculation, phlebotomy/venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, surgical assistance, strong client communication and education, knowledge of all routinely used medications, preventatives and vaccines, monitoring of sedated patients and basic wound care. Knowledge of Fear Free practices a plus, but training will be provided if needed.
Qualifications
- Veterinary experience
- Veterinary technician certification
- Dog handling and restraint skills
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy
- Experience in animal catheterization and wound care
- Strong communication skills
- Familiarity with anesthesiology and pet care techniques
- Ability to handle various animal species
- Premium skills such as kennel experience and laboratory work
- Relevant skills in dog training and X-Ray procedures.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 38 per week
