Prototype Supervisor
Position Overview
As part of the talented Brunswick Boat Group Technology Center team, you will provide leadership oversight of a team of skilled technicians responsible for the construction, testing, validation, and integration of Brunswick Boat Group Technology Center (BBGTC) new products. Other responsibilities include support of BBGTC special projects and continuous improvement opportunities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work
environment is usually moderate.
The anticipated pay range for this position is $57,000 to $92,600 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.

Prototype Supervisor

Essential Functions
- Rigorous Safety focus and oversight for all Prototype Shop activities.
- Provide the leadership direction, defining schedules, maintaining KPIs for all Brunswick brands
- developed at the Brunswick Boat Group Technology Center.
- Supporting timely execution of assignments related to new product assemblies, prototype builds,
- product testing, product integrations, special projects.
- Document and communicate with departmental manager, engineering managers, project leaders, and
- program managers on prototype issues that may arise.
- Support scheduling and testing of prototype boats, review documented findings, while providing
- recommendations from findings to assigned program leads and program managers.
- Lead, support, and remove barriers of Prototype Technicians with new product assemblies and testing
- of products.
- Responsible for the monitoring and scheduling of routine maintenance for engineering test vessels.
- Must interface well with other employees and departments throughout the Edgewater and Flagler
- campuses, Brunswick organization, outside vendors, and dealers.
- Maintain skills matrix and assist in the continued development of colleagues and production personnel
- to insure a smooth transition of a product from the prototype stage through production release.
- Knowledge, skills and experience in a wide variety of assembly related installations to include current
- and advancing technologies, mechanical systems, cabinetry, and electrical systems.
- Self-starter, high energy individual who leads others and completes assignments effectively.
- Must be committed to quality standards acceptable by Boston Whaler and customer base.
- Insure departmental 6S standards are followed, maintained clean, orderly, and safe daily.
- Support communication of and ensure company policies and procedures are understood and followed.
- Must be willing to work overtime as required to assure timely completion of critical projects.
- Must be willing to travel as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Advanced knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures.
- Proven leadership experience of at least 3 years
- 5-10 years Marine industry knowledge and boat building experience required.
- Experience with PC based software (Microsoft Office, Teams, OBMS, etc.).
- Ability to view and interpret on-water data acquisition test results a plus.
- Demonstrate problem solving and decision-making abilities
- AS Degree / college level course work preferred
- Additional technical training in Mechanical / Electrical fields preferred.
- NMMA, ABYC compliance certification training, Technical / Systems certifications, & training preferred
- US Coast Guard safe boating course, boat handling experience preferred
