Role Overview
We are seeking a strong Sales Manager to help launch our brands, drive consumer engagement and oversee all aspects of sales programs in the state of New Jersey. This position will require strong data analysis, excellent communication skills, and prior experience managing a team. You will also need to be a strong relationship builder with our retail partners. We are looking for someone already embedded in the New Jersey cannabis market, with established relationships and contacts among retailers that can be applied on day one.
Responsibilities
● Help develop a launch plan for the sale of Journeyman Lemonade shots and Mr. Moxey’s Mints in the state of New Jersey. This will include targeting specific doors and rollout launch sequencing.
● Act as a player/coach:
○ Player: Utilize your cannabis network in the state of New Jersey to open doors, get Botanica products on shelves, manage relationships and ensure sell through
○ Coach: Once a critical mass of doors is achieved, work with Botanica to recruit sales reps to expand market penetration by opening additional doors and maximizing SKU penetration for Botanica products
● Work with the Director of Regional Sales to develop sales strategy, set monthly forecasts and strive to meet or exceed targeted forecasts
● Monitor and interpret broader market trends and monitor competitor products to help inform development of new products, training and marketing points of emphasis
● Act as the highest level relationship manager for New Jersey dispensary customers
● Help recruit, coach, and motivate sales reps to ensure that a high professional standard is achieved. Ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) are met through people management, feedback, and recognition.
● Help manage the Botanica sales process, which involves coordinating deliveries with retailers, inventory management, etc.
● Collaborate and coordinate with field marketing team, including direct management of the New Jersey Field Marketing Manager and Brand Ambassadors
● Collaborate with the marketing team to create content for budtender training and engagement. Work closely to align engagement with sampling, POS, and merchandising programs.
● Represent company at vendor and other marketing events
Required Skills
● 4 years’ experience in Sales Management role, must have New Jersey cannabis experience and extensive rolodex
● Team management skills and the ability to lead staff
● Solid understanding of field marketing activities in the cannabis space, including merchandising, promotions, in-store activations, etc.
● An excellent organizer and deadline driven
● Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
● Ability to analyze data and use the numbers to create effective sales engagement with retail buyers
● Engaging and personable, great at building relationships
● Must be 21 years of age and pass a background check
