Job Overview
Botany Houseplant Shop is a woman owned and operated brick and mortar storefront in Carbondale specializing in houseplants and their care. We are seeking a part-time employee to help in the shop with plant care, plant maintenance and customer service in a retail setting.

Part-time Sales Associate

Thursday, Friday & Saturday 9:45am - 5:15pm

$18/HOUR STARTING WAGE

WITH PERFORMANCE BASED RAISES & EMPLOYEE DISCOUNTS

Experience & Skills (including but not limited to)

• Professional or personal experience in caring for plants, either outdoors or indoors.
• Knowing plant names or willingness to learn.
• Experience with or willingness to learn Square POS system.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, climb a ladder & operate a power drill.
• Strong organization skills & attention to detail.
• Retail experience with emphasis on customer service & merchandising.
• Self motivated, accountable, respectful, positive & ready to learn & grow.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

• Plant care- watering, cleaning, monitoring for problems & executing solutions. Awareness of light & environmental differences for plants.
• Customer service- assist customers in selecting plants & provide plant care advice. Contribute to the shop’s mission of a warm, welcoming and no-pressure retail environment.
• Plant Repotting- experience with or willingness to learn about the differences in soil, proper upsizing, & repotting techniques.
• Receiving & processing orders & inventory entry into POS system.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 22 per week
