JOB SUMMARY:
The Cardiac Cath Technologists provides technical support and patient care before, during and after invasive diagnostic/interventional procedures. This position includes the role of: scrub, circulator and hemodynamic monitor. May care for patients ranging from 12 years to 105 years
The Cardiac Cath Technologist reports directly to the Cardiac Cath Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:
- Graduate from an accredited school of radiology.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Certified in Basic Life Support.
- Work Experience:
- One-year experience in an invasive Cardiac/Vascular lab preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:
- Assist physician in performance of invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures and maintains sterility of operative site and supplies.
- Operate all Cath Lab imaging and patient monitoring systems before, during and after the procedure. Operates Radiology Information System as it relates to Cath Lab/Special Procedures.
- Communicates information about patient examinations, patient conditions, schedule and equipment to the appropriate individual, including patient and family education. Responsible for patient, peer and personal safety.
- Maintains professional communication and relations with all hospital personnel, physicians, patients and family.
- Maintains quality control program for patient monitoring and emergency equipment. Contributes positively to the department’s financial performance.
- Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Majority of shift occurs during the day, but will be required to work nighttime shifts to meet laboratory needs.

- Lifting of supplies and equipment.
- Some lifting and positioning of patients.
- Works in doors in a well-lighted and ventilated environment.
- Frequently required to make independent decisions.
