Clinic MA/ Medical Scribe; PRN Float Position for BFMA $15-10 - $25.50

Overview

MA

Responsible for direct patient care and assisting the physician or advanced practice providers.     

This position will report directly to the Director of Clinic Operations. 

Scribe  

The Clinic Medical Scribe is responsible for direct patient care, & assisting provider with obtaining & maintaining patient records.

This position will report directly to the Clinic Site Manager.

Responsibilities

MA 

1. Works under the direct supervision of the physician to provide direct patient care    in the outpatient setting.

2. Obtains patient vital signs and health history, administers screening questionnaires, performs medication reconciliation, and documents all findings in the medical record.

3. Assists the clinician with a variety of procedures specific to clinic specialty.

4. Administers medications, including immunizations as ordered by the clinician.

5. Performs specimen collection and testing specific to clinic specialty.

6. Assists with answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out, verifying patient demographic and insurance information, and obtaining outside medical records.

7. Other duties as assigned.

Scribe

1. Accompany physician into the patient examination room in order to transcribe a history and physical exam, and document accurately the physician’s encounter with the patient and others present.

2. List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician.

3. Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.

4. Document any procedures performed by the physician.

5. Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times.

6. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and managements.

7. Document work processes as required.

8. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MA1. Education:a.) High School graduate. b.) Prefer graduate of a Medical Assistant program, but not required.

2. Licensure/Certification:a.) Certification as a medical assistant preferred.b.) Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

3. Work Experience:a.) Minimum 1 year working as a medical assistant in a practice, preferred. Graduation from a medical assistant program may be substituted in lieu of the 1-year work experience.

Scribe 1. Education:a.) High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Licensure/Certification:a.) None.

3. Work Experience:a.) 6 months’ experience as a Medical Scribe. ORb.) 6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination ofeducation and experience.

Salary : $10 - $15
