Overview
The staff physical therapy assistant is responsible for performing treatment programs developed by the physical therapist(s); documenting treatment; attending team meetings; and participating in continuing education.
All staff physical therapy assistants are required to keep a Missouri licensure, in addition to participating in continuing education and training of others.
Responsibilities
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.
Perform treatment program developed by a registered physical therapist. Meet with registered physical therapist as required by unit for revision of treatment plans/goals.
2.
Complete accurate and timely documentation based on the requirements of the assigned unit/area.
3.
Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members, patient/resident/client family members, physicians and co-workers.
4.
Participate in continuing education opportunities and provide training/learning opportunities to others.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a graduate from an accredited physical therapy assistant
program.
- Current Missouri licensure
- If working in home health, schools, industry or aquatics must have current drivers license
- BLS required
- Prefer 1-year experience
