Job Summary
The Bottineau Rural Ambulance Service District is hiring for a full-time EMT or Advanced EMT. The EMT/AEMT plays a critical role in providing emergency medical care to patients in various settings, including pre-hospital environments and during transport to healthcare facilities. EMTs are responsible for assessing patients' conditions, administering basic life support, and ensuring safe transportation while maintaining a high level of professionalism and compassion. NREMT certification and ND EMT licensure is required.
Duties
- Assess patients’ conditions through thorough evaluations and vital sign checks.
- Administer basic life support as needed, including CPR and airway management in accordance with patient care guidelines.
- Assist with heavy lifting of patients and equipment during transport.
- Maintain knowledge of physiology to effectively respond to medical emergencies.
- Operate emergency vehicles safely while adhering to traffic laws and policy.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in hospital settings to provide emergency care as needed.
- Ensure the proper use and maintenance of durable medical equipment (DME).
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely in compliance with regulations.

Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly compensation is set following the district's adopted pay scale for years of service. The District will credit 0.5 years of service at BAS for every 1 external year an application has externally, up to a total of 5 internal years (10 external).
- Employees holding or obtaining a bachelors degree are eligible for a 2.5% yearly raise.
- Each employee receives 144 hours of paid time off per year.
- Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance for the employee is paid by the district.
- Continuing education in the form of conference attendance and online CE platforms is provided by the district.
- The district will match up to 3% towards an employee's 401k.
