Job Summary:
Bottom Line Bakery is seeking a dedicated and experienced Bakery manager and Cake Decorator to lead our team in delivering exceptional baked goods and beautifully crafted cakes. This dual- role position requires a blend of leadership skills, creativity in cake decoration, and deep understanding of bakery operations. The ideal candidate will be passionate about baking, have a keen eye for detail, and possess the ability to manage a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Bakery Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the bakery, ensuring efficiency and high-quality product output.
- Manage inventory, communicating with the owner to order supplies, and ensure ingredients are fresh and properly stocked.
- Train, supervise, and schedule bakery staff to maintain productivity and quality standards.
- Monitor food safety and sanitation practices to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and customer satisfaction.
- Handle customer inquiries, special orders, and complaints professionally and promptly.
- Be mindful of budgets, track sales, and report financial performance to upper management.
- Innovate and introduce new bakery items to keep the menu fresh and appealing.
Cake Decoration:
- Design and decorate custom cakes, cupcakes, and other baked goods according to customer specifications.
- Stay updated on current cake decorating trends and techniques to offer unique and creative designs.
- Ensure all decorated products meet Bottom Line Bakery’s high standards for appearance and taste.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their vision and bring it to life through custom designs.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring all decorating tools are in good condition.
- Create and maintain a portfolio of cake designs to showcase available options to customers via our social media outlets and website
Qualifications:
-Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a bakery environment, with at least 6 months in a management role and professional cake decorating experience.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in a wide range of cake decorating techniques, including fondant, buttercream, piping, and sculpting.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle custom orders and customer feedback.
- Knowledge of bakery equipment, ingredients, and health/safety regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Dexterity to handle decorating tools and equipment.
Schedule:
- Full-time position with the expectation of early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as required.
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience, with opportunities for bonuses based on performance.
