The Role
Bottomline is looking for an Instructional Designer to grow with us in a Hybrid work environment out of our Portsmouth, NH office!
This person must be able to come in at least once a week to our Portsmouth, NH office.
The Instructional Designer will be a key member of the Revenue Operations and Enablement team at Bottomline. This role will support the Paymode line of business and be responsible for creating and maintaining world-class training programs for their go-to-market teams. The primary responsibilities of this role will be to design and create the sales learning journey and accompanying curriculum for the Paymode sales teams. This person will work cross-functionally with the revenue enablement team sales leadership to develop the curriculum frameworks and will collaborate with subject-matter-experts to create the content and training. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of improving and accelerating knowledge, comprehension, application, and productivity for go-to-market teams.
In this role you will design and develop learning solutions in a variety of formats (instructor led, e-learning, microlearning, videos). You’ll apply solid instructional design methodology, incorporate adult learning principles, and ensure learning offerings are accessible, and scalable.
How you’ll contribute:
- Design and develop engaging on-demand and eLearning content and curriculum, inclusive of certification and reinforcement materials and activities
- Gather requirements from key stakeholders to define the appropriate learning objectives and expectations.
- Collaborate with the sales, marketing, and product teams, and subject-matter experts, to create and deliver content that fits with the curriculum framework.
- Create and/or translate technical content into easy-to-consume training curriculum for a global audience at various levels with clarity.
- Create, record, edit, segment, convert and compress training into on-demand content.
- Introduce new and innovative teaching techniques and creative delivery mechanisms to reach diverse sales roles
- Ensure learning modules align with instructional design best practices and learning objectives.
What will make you successful:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience in instructional design, within an enterprise software company developing educational content
- Knowledge and experience in training and development tools and technology (Camtasia, Captivate, Quicktime, Articulate Storyline)
- Strong skills in PowerPoint or Google Slides design and ability to create visually appealing and engaging slide decks.
- Experience designing both self-paced and live training content.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and content organization
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design best practices.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
