The Role

Bottomline is looking for an entry level Software Engineer to grow with us either remotely or in our Portsmouth, NH office!

As an entry level Software Engineer on our Banking Solutions Team, you will be asked to learn and adapt quickly, take on challenges, work to high standards, be a solid performer & work well with other team members.

This person must be based in the United States.

How you’ll contribute:

• Backend Development / Frontend Development.
• Design, develop, and implement high-quality, scalable, and maintainable back-end applications using Spring Boot/Java.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, design solutions, and deliver robust and efficient software solutions.
• Apply design patterns, data structures, and algorithms to optimize application performance and ensure code quality.
• Utilize observability tools like Kibana, New Relic, and Grafana to monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot system performance and issues.
• Work with databases, both relational and non-relational, to design and optimize data storage and retrieval mechanisms.
• Write clean, efficient, and testable code, ensuring adequate unit and integration testing to maintain high code quality.

What will make you successful:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Awareness/Experience with any programming skills like (Ex: Java, Python) (ADDED PLUS)
• Awareness of any of the front-end languages/frameworks (Ex: HTML/CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Angular).
• Knowledge of OLTP and OLAP database modelling and development.
• Ability to incorporate in practice various software design & development fundamentals and best practices.
• Exposure to cloud technology and messaging systems would be an added advantage.
• Strong orientation towards self-learning and growth and should have a keen interest in learning the latest technology.
• Any project/work/module completed and added to GIT hub to demonstrate their proficiency in software development.
• Attention to detail and desire to probe further into data.
• Understanding of test-driven development and continuous integration/deployment.
