Responsibilities
The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for supporting the Project Management team on planning, and facilitation of projects.
- Assist Project Manager in develpoing project plans, scheudled and budgets
- Assist in the coordination and communication of the project activities with team members, stakeholders, and vendors
- Assist with creating job master purchase orders to input into accounting software
- Assist with identifying investigate and explain job budget variances
- Assist with data entry, filing, retrieving faxes and scanning documents into job folder
- Participate in project meetings and documenting meeting minutes
- Update accounting software with relevant information as needed.
- Collaborate with Superintendents and Estimating department to secure pricing for various materials using existing and potential new suppliers.
- Assist Field Superintendents with miscellaneous job issues as required.
- Print plans/addendum/notices from various plan sites.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Basic understanding of project management principles and methodologies
- Some college coursework completed.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Highly adaptable and flexible with ability to work independently and/ or team environment
- Highly proficient computer software skills in Microsoft Office and project management software
- Strong organization, record-keeping and follow-up skills
- Ability to read and understand Civil Plans and understand complex project deliverables via jobsite visit
- Ability to understand written procedures, write routine documents, speak clearly, and understand multi-step written and oral instructions in English
- Demonstrate good attendance and the ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Must have a valid CA Driver’s License and good driving record.
