GENERAL PURPOSE : The Charge Nurse of Long Term Care (LTC) is responsible to assist the Director of LTC in the provision of optimal nursing care to LTC residents according to current Medicare and Medicaid Regulations. Carry out special projects as assigned by the Director of LTC. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Must be able to work effectively when under pressure and during stressful situations. Ability to lift, walk, carry and stand. Ability to direct other employees appropriately to ensure safe, comprehensive and effective nursing care for residents overall. Able to function effectively when assuming a patient assignment as a direct care provider. Able to function effectively when assuming the MDS Coordinator role. Demonstrate leadership skills and abilities to work collaboratively with all disciplines and ensure compliance with all Federal and State Long Term Care regulations. Develop and carry out referral development activities.
