$39.41 - $59.12 an hour - Level I
$41.49 - $62.24 an hour - Level II
$43.57 - $65.35 an hour - Level III
*Ranges include per diem differential. $2.50/hr for evening and weekend shifts.
*Pay range is dependent on years of relevant and like experience
Boulder Community Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the SANE program. The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner provides timely non-judgmental, compassionate care to the sexual assault victim. This includes a forensic exam, prophylaxis for sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy prevention, photographic documentation, referrals for appropriate after care, and participation in the legal proceedings upon subpoena. The SANE also provides evidence collection from suspects as requested by law enforcement, upon consent by suspect or search warrant if applicable. The SANE is expected to follow protocols established for the SANE program.

Qualifications
Degree as required by licensure
Colorado RN license in good standing
3 years of experience in nursing, preferably ED or Women's Care
SANE Level I:Completion of 64 hours of SANE training or previous employment as a SANE RN.
SANE Level II:(SANE A) Completion of the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) test, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Adult/Adolescent.
SANE Level III:Completion of the IAFN test, Sexual assault nurse examiner Pediatric, SANE - P
Responsibilities
Ability to triage patients appropriately if a change in medical condition occurs, requiring transport to ER for reassessment.
Coordinate care by all agencies in assisting sexual assault victims during medical-forensic exams.
Communicate with ED regarding physical/ medical needs that may arise during exam
Perform and document sexual assault and forensic interviews correctly.
Perform a complete physical and forensic evidence collection, including head-to-toe assessment for trauma, detailed genital exam, forensic specimen collection, including photography.
Maintain chain of evidence for collected evidence.
Document injuries accurately with the support of digital photography.
Adherence to evidence collection protocols.
Maintain professional standards that do not create conflict of interest with employment and patient care, including patient and medical record confidentiality.
Provide expert testimony as witness for cases performed as SANE during judicial process.
Communicate with corresponding agency and district attorney as necessary.
Maintain exam room and equipment to provide for continued and unpredicted patient care.
Maintain contact with SANE coordinator for 2 years after leaving program to enable contact with the judicial system if required for trial cases.
