Description

The Boulder County Attorney’s Office is hiring an Assistant County Attorney II.

Attorneys in the County Attorney’s Office work on complicated and often cutting-edge legal issues for a progressive local government. Our attorneys operate in a highly collaborative work environment, sharing their experiences and perspectives with others in their office and build relationships with clients in County departments and offices. We prioritize professional growth, work-life balance, and a respectful atmosphere in which to practice law. Boulder County is a fully inclusive, anti-racist, and multicultural organization aspiring to overcome all forms of social oppression. We strongly encourage candidates from historically underrepresented backgrounds to apply.

  • Employment law. Providing ongoing legal advice to Human Resources and addressing issues related to employee discipline (and any appeals to discipline decisions).

  • Zoning enforcement. Providing ongoing advice to the zoning enforcement team, drafting of letters and complaints, and litigating cases in County or District Court.

In addition to the areas of law listed above, for interested applicants we have a unique opportunity to also be involved with the County’s equity legal work, which includes evaluating programs and projects for compliance with federal and state law and helping clients meet the County’s equity goals.
