Boulder County Human Services Department is seeking to hire two (2) Senior Services Support Specialist. The Senior Services Support Specialist will support Boulder County Housing Authority (BCHA) residents and voucher holders who are 55 to age in place. This position requires skills in helping residents with complex paperwork, ability to understand the aging process, work with mental health and substance use issues, dementia/Alzheimer's, hoarding, etc. This position collaborates with Property Management to problem solve when an older adult (55 ) is facing challenges living on their own to provide resources to help them age in place. Candidate must also possess the ability to work with family, outreach to non-profit organizations, build and maintain community collaboration, and interact with residents within our communities. Our ideal candidate is expected to understand and empathize with differences in people and cultures; respect different values; thrive in diverse settings; and understand the origin and reasoning behind key policies, practices, and procedures.
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
This is a full-time, benefited position that will work Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, can vary to accommodate special events. This position will work remote and out of housing sites throughout Boulder County, primarily in Lafayette, Louisville, and Longmont, and often requires travel between sites during the day. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is exempt.

Hiring Salary Range: $62,520.00 - $76,284.00 Annually

Examples of Duties
- Help older adults with locating resources in the community so they can age in place This includes programs, such as Medicaid, SNAP, Meals on Wheels, VIA, Area Agency on Aging, and Senior Centers
- Assist with complicated paperwork that is essential for older adults living on a fixed income, such as Old Age Pension, Social Security, and SNAP
- Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with other service providers to ensure appropriate services are received and efforts are not duplicated
- Work closely with Property Managers and Maintenance around housing issues (hoarding, failing housing inspections) to locate resources and connect with family members to support the older adult in being able to remain in their unit
- Manage small budgets and submit applications for financial resources through Area Agency on Aging (AAA), track funds going out of the Boulder Community Housing Corporation (BCHC) Budget, use a P-card for purchases
- Participate on local Boards and Committees that will help enhance the programing for older adults at BCHA Sites
- Performs related work, as required
- May be reassigned during emergency situations
