Bond Commissioner Unit Philosophy:

This is a full-time, benefited position . The unit operates 7 days a week, 365 days. This position works 4 day/10 hour shift. The schedule is Thursday-Sunday 8:30am -6:30pm, but may vary based on training and shift availability. This position will work out of the Boulder County Jail located at 3200 Airport Road, Boulder, Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is exempt.
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Salary Range: $62,520.00 -$76,284.00 Annually

- Screen and assess all eligible individuals brought to the Boulder County Jail.
- Complete a thorough review of criminal history using multiple criminal justice databases
- Interview individuals using effective interpersonal skills (collaboration, empathy, active listening)
- Complete standardized assessments using established guidelines and practices
- Determine eligibility of individuals to be released prior to seeing a judge
- Assess risk and protective factors when setting bonds
- Release low risk individuals when appropriate with least restrictive bond conditions
- Submit reports to the court making bond condition recommendations to the judge
- Assess risk and protective factors when recommending bond conditions
- Conditions recommended are the least restrictive necessary to mitigate public safety risk
- Complete CCIC certification process per Colorado Bureau of Investigation directives.
- Collaborate with and assist partner agencies such as Law Enforcement, jail staff, and the courts
- Any other duties that may be assigned by Bond Commissioner Supervisor and/or Administrator that are in keeping with and supporting the mission of the unit
- Performs related work, as required
- May be reassigned during emergency situations

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of 6 years of combined education and experience in social science, human services, criminal justice or related fields..Additional related education may count towards required experience.
