Boulder County Community Services is seeking to hire Head Start Teachers! The Head Start Teacher has the primary responsibility to ensure the safety, well-being and appropriate developmental growth of the children in his/her care. Develop and implement an effective early childhood education curriculum and environments to meet all related classroom practices as required by the Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS), CHDS Child Care Licensing Rules and Regulations, Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP), Colorado Preschool Program (CPP). This position leads a team of 2-3 staff member, as staffed per classrooms.
This is a full-time, benefited position that will work Monday - Friday from 7:45am - 4:15pm with some evening hours that are required. This position will work in Boulder or Lafayette, depending on program need. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is exempt.
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range: $53,988.00 - $77,760.00 annually

- Maintains a high- quality classroom environment by following Head Start Performance Standards and CHDS Child Care Licensing Rules and Regulations
- Administer developmental screenings and assessments
- Create and implement individualized developmentally appropriate lesson plans and submit to the Center Director weekly.
- Provide a safe, inviting, and nurturing classroom for all children.
- Family-centered home visits and conferences, as required per HSPPS
- Create an atmosphere of family inclusion and participation
- Provide daily oversight for teacher assistants, classroom aides, interns, subs, and volunteers, assigned to classrooms.
- Attend required meetings and trainings.
- Meet all teacher and classroom requirements per CDHS child care licensing and HSPPS
- Weekly documentation input in TS Gold.
- Documentation of children's learning
- Classroom organization to ensure Active Supervision
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of an associate degree (AA) in early childhood education, or an AA in a field related to early childhood education and coursework equivalent to a major in early childhood education (30 credits), with experience teaching preschool-age children. In addition, candidates with a CDA in early childhood education who are working towards or willing to work towards obtaining an AA in early childhood education, child development, or in a related field with course work equivalent to a major (30 credits) relating to early childhood education within three years of hire are also eligible for this position and at least one year of preschool teaching experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Current Colorado Directors certification or willing to obtain within the first year of hire
- Experience working with children who have disabilities
- Demonstrated experience working with Dual Language Learners
- Experience with Trauma Informed Care
- Ability to use a computer with basic skills in Microsoft Office products and internet-based software
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Current CPR/First Aid certification and Medication Administration or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Experience working in Head Start or Early Head Start
- Strong communication skills
- Professional work ethics, including understanding and exercising confidentiality
- Advanced degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or Special Education
- Experience working with historically underrepresented communities
