What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Coordinator position at Boulder County?
Boulder County Community Services (CS) Department is seeking to hire a Payroll Coordinator. This position will assist the CS Personnel and Payroll Coordinator with all payroll tasks. Works with all employees and supervisors from all seven divisions of Community Services. We pride ourselves on being a service-oriented and people-focused. This is a full-time, benefited position that will work Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm. This position will work remotely and out of 3482 Broadway St. Boulder, Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt (eligible for overtime).
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range: $53,988.00 - $65,874.00 Annually
Tentative Hiring Timeline:

New employees receive an 80-hour bank of vacation at the time of hire, in addition to 8 hours of both vacation and medical leave accruals each month (Must not have been employed at Boulder County during the 12 months prior to re-hire date to qualify). - Processes personnel action notices requiring changes in an employees' status or compensation
- Researches and resolves questions from supervisors and staff related to payroll/timekeeping issues
- Prepares various payroll reports, as required
- Reviews and enters historical edits in Dimensions
- Maintains the CS Leadership and Division org charts using Visio
- Assists supervisors with creating and editing employee schedules in the timekeeping system
- Processes labor account code and supervisor changes
- Performs monthly sign-off , month-end review and reconciliation
- Reviews timecard mileage entries and program coding
- Helps coordinate the performance conversation process in Neogov
- Reviews and approves New Hire forms and Requisitions in Neogov
- Request new hire photos from Security, uploads to Media Valet and Neogov Perform
- Assists Finance Manager with reports, Acts as a liaison with Human Resources (HR) to help manage Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Leave without pay (LWOP), Short-Term Disability (STD), terminations, etc.
- Performs related work, as required
- May be reassigned during emergency situations

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of high school diploma or equivalent and four years of clerical accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and timekeeping experience. Additional related education may count towards required experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four years of experience in generally accepted accounting principles and public agency accounting procedures, and/or four years of performing professional and technical payroll or timekeeping duties
- Two years of experience using Microsoft Office applications.
- Superior customer service skills with a proven ability to provide clear, concise information in a friendly and professional manner
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational, project management, problem solving, time management, and follow-up skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills

- Ability to work both independently and as a valued and contributing team member.
- Computer literacy skills to meet the requirements of the position, including the ability to perform accurate data entry and learn other computer applications, as required
