Job Overview
Our progressive, patient-centered, dental practice is seeking a motivated, mature, energetic, and innovative career professional to join our team full time as a Receptionist. The receptionist should demonstrate a warm and approachable disposition to each patient both on the phone and in person, providing the best possible "first impression" of the dental office.

This practice's goal is to provide exceptional dentistry and patient care. Our standards are very high. The ideal candidate must share our dedication to uncompromising care and top notch service for our guests. The level of customer service that we aim to provide is experienced at Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus. While patients are in our office we would like them to feel welcome, comfortable, connected, and well-heard.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Manage appointment scheduling and confirmations efficiently.
  • Handle patient check-ins and check-outs, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with insurance verification and billing inquiries.
  • Perform data entry tasks including ICD-9 coding and 10 key typing.
  • Review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Support medical staff by coordinating communication between patients and providers.
  • Utilize clinic management software such as Epic for patient record management.
  • Provide bilingual support as needed to enhance patient communication.
  • Excellent communication skills- written and verbal (on the telephone and in person)
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and work independently and efficiently
  • The ability to think outside of the box and problem solve effectively
  • The ability to evaluate the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures and interpret, adapt and apply guidelines, policies and procedures as needed
  • Willingness to exceed patients' and employers' expectations- willing to go the extra mile to be sure all job responsibilities are performed well and to completion
  • Familiarity with dental practice terminology
  • Familiarity with examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures
  • Excellent computer skills- various software proficiencies (dental and non-dental)
  • Ability to operate various types of office equipment such as copy/fax/scanner/credit card machines/multi-line telephones, etc

Experience

  • Previous experience as a dental receptionist or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of medical administrative support functions.
  • Proficiency in typing and data entry with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with ICD coding is advantageous.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to better serve our diverse patient population.
  • Experience working in a clinic or healthcare setting is a plus.

This position is full time- no evenings or weekends. Compensation is based on experience and benefits are offered after a probationary period. Candidates must include resume, professional references and a letter indicating why they would be an asset/benefit to our practice.

Pay: $21.51 - $25.00 per hour
