If you like working with kids, our dynamic and community-centered organization is looking for an energetic, conscientious, and resourceful Sports Specialist to join our team for the season. Our summer day camp program serves children ages 4-12 and we are looking to build our sports program.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as lead sports educator and counselor for Cherryvale Day Camps.
- Manage and maintain all sports equipment, including inventory before and after the season.
- Create and implement age appropriate sports activities for our campers.
- Enthusiastically participates in all camp programs and activities.
- Interface with the leadership team (Assistant Camp Director, Program Director, Camp Director) as needed.
- Assisting in camp groups when staff support is needed
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment for campers, abiding by all camp rules and policies. Assist any camper with empathy and patience when needed.

- Must be over the age of 18.
- Background in coaching a variety of different sports
- Desire and ability to teach sport skills to children with various backgrounds and abilities
- Experience or willingness to work with young children (ages 4 – 12)
- Ability to integrate camp values in programs
- Has the ability to think and act creatively, be flexible, demonstrate pride of work, and is caring about the individuals they serve.
- This role is in-person, seasonal, and full time during the camp season, May 19 - August 8, 2025. This includes pre-season training and prep time as well as post camp clean up and inventory.
While performing regular duties, you will be required to sit, stand, reach, walk, or kneel, and to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

While this role is primarily seasonal, from May - August, there is opportunity for a limited number of staff to extend beyond seasonal capacity.
COMPENSATION
This is a non-exempt hourly position with a salary range of $16.50-18.50/hour commensurate with experience. This is a 40-hour a week position May-August with the possibility of extension through the year. The benefits for seasonal and temporary employees currently include a 403b retirement plan with generous company match and sick leave.
The anticipated closing of this position is May 23, 2025.
