Job Summary :
Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is looking for a full-time Healthcare Data Analyst to join our Finance team, reporting directly to the CFO! This position works closely with administrators and IT teams to develop data-driven solutions that support decision-making and policy development. This role works with sensitive, highly complex, and varied data and is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting healthcare data to improve operational efficiency, patient outcomes, and overall healthcare performance.
The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of business processes, profit / cost center operations and reporting, and know how to interpret and explain financial statements and reports.
Job Duties :
- Collect, clean, and analyze healthcare data from various sources, including Electronic Health Records (EHR), claims data, patient surveys, and operational databases.
- Completes ad hoc analytical research, including data extraction and manipulation via SQL and Excel. Compiles and rationalizes data from disparate sources, ensures data consistency and integrity for analyses and reporting.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations to present insights and trends to stakeholders.
- Identify patterns and correlations in patient care, treatment outcomes, and hospital performance.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to enhance healthcare processes and patient outcomes using data-driven strategies.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
- Utilize statistical methods and machine learning techniques to support predictive analytics and risk assessment models.
- Assist in the implementation and optimization of healthcare analytics tools and software.
- Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) for clinics and providers.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance patient satisfaction.
- Works closely with the revenue cycle team to provide input, analysis, and reporting on process improvement projects.
- Experience in healthcare data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other data analysis tools.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik.
- Strong understanding of healthcare terminology, coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), and industry regulations (HIPAA, HEDIS).
- Knowledge of EHR systems (Epic, NextGen, etc.) and healthcare databases.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills to present findings to non-technical stakeholders.

Location :Salary : $79,000 - $119,000
