We’re seeking a dynamic, experienced and results-driven Supply Chain professional to join our team at Boulder Scientific. The Manager, Sales Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) plays a pivotal role in forecasting, inventory management, and optimizing the flow of products within the supply chain. You will leverage analytical insights, sales and marketing data, and a deep understanding of demand patterns to ensure optimal product supply and inventory management. As a key partner, you will work cross-functionally with teams to drive continuous improvement and navigate the complexities of product life cycles, demand fluctuations, and market dynamics. The leader in this critical role will establish a robust Management System encompassing the components of SIOP that can optimize the supply chain to adapt to demand and supply changes while supporting BSC's growth initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Generate Forecasting Solutions:
- Drive the SIOP process. Includes communicating with middle and senior executives to appraise the status of SIOP process and the progress made with respect to the target value of KPI’s. This involves creating the monthly SIOP Executive Summary presentation, with specific focus on story, opportunities that require documented decisions, and dedicated / accurate data
- Analyze Sales supplied demand trends and create / maintain detailed master forecast schedules
- Develop forecast schedules to support global customer needs, ensuring timely shipping of all products
- Propose and implement solutions to enhance the accuracy of demand forecasts, contributing to operational success
- Driving the SIOP / Supply Review process cadence and output with a cross functional team (ex. Sourcing, Purchasing, Supply Planning, Operations, Customer Service, and Sales departments)
Plan Supply and Inventory Flow:
- Manage master planning, material processes and systems, prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs. Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs. Optimize inventory and process improvements
- Manage inventory levels to ensure on-time delivery and shipping lead times are met and are aligned with Sales Forecasts
- Review and adjust planning percentages based on MRP, forecast data, and historical trends
- Create and modify BOM structures to support evolving product needs
- Lead product retirement activities such as phase-outs, obsolescence, and end-of-life processes, utilizing Chempax based systems or other digital planning tools
- Develop and implement strategic inventory management plans to optimize costs, inventory levels, and working capital
- Develops and maintains Planning Assumptions in conjunction with Manufacturing Operations and purchasing, including safety stocks, lead-times, order quantities, campaign strategy, batch yields, cycle times, etc.
Analyze Statistical Data:
- Prepare and present insightful reports during the SIOP process, contributing to business decision-making
- Develops, maintains, communicates, and monitors, the Production Plan and Schedule to meet and maintain targeted inventories of intermediate and finished products.
- Creates production planning options for management and financial review as necessary
- Ensure the integrity of data in Chempax and other digital planning tools
- Clearly and concisely communicates with all business partners by simplifying complex situations enabling rapid decision-making and forward progress Take ownership of performance metrics for forecast accuracy, material requirements planning, and inventory levels
Develop and Maintain Team Relationships:
- Interface with sales teams to gather and understand demand information, driving accurate forecasting
- Collaborate with material planners to address material shortages and resolve production planning issues
- Partner with cross-functional teams in Purchasing, Production, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, Sales/Marketing, and Warehousing to streamline processes and problem-solve
- Support and approve Engineering Changes and Red Lines, ensuring seamless product transitions
- Partner with the Process Engineering group to schedule and implement Dev Form 6 trials
- Support demand planning process designed to integrate feedback from Sales, Marketing, Operation, Scheduling, Finance, Logistics, and Sourcing teams to develop the monthly, quarterly and annual demand consensus plan by business segment, key customers and products
Drive Continuous Improvement Priorities:
- Continuously review and update procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency in demand planning, supply planning and inventory control processes
- Drive towards zero touch planning, scheduling and order fulfillment
- Drive initiatives to optimize stock levels, reduce obsolescence, and improve operational goals and KPIs
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional initiatives aimed at enhancing tools, systems, and processes to support effective planning and reporting
- Champion continuous improvements within the team and organization to foster a culture of excellence
- Ensure a safe, healthy work environment in adherence to Environmental Health and Safety Programs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Marketing, Logistics/Transportation or a related field is required.
- 10 years’ total experience in Supply Chain with 5 years’ experience in Sales Inventory and Operations Planning, Supply and Demand Balancing, Operations Management, Production control, Inventory Management or Scheduling. At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience

- Demonstrated knowledge of inventory management theory and supply chain practices
- Experience managing Demand Planning assignments
- Experience leading teams
How To Stand Out:
- Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
- APICS or Supply Chain certification is plus
- Experience with Chempax, SAP, Oracle or other digital planning tools
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience working cross-functionally with Customer Support and Sales teams
- At least 5 years of experience with Master and Finite Scheduling and working with Production and Engineering teams
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with complex data sets
- Prefer experience in specialty chemicals or a related industry; batch and customized product experience is a plus
Work Environment
The employee is frequently required to sit and use the computer keyboard for extended periods of time. The employee may occasionally be required to review/inspect supplier shipments in the Receiving area and will be expected to wear the required PPE. May be required to travel in own vehicle to BSC Longmont and Mead locations. May be required to travel for the role, including by air and overnight stays.
