Summary:
Provides instructional leadership in literacy PK-12, including literacy standards, curricular resources, assessment, intervention, and best instructional practice. Plans, leads, and co-facilitates professional learning for school-based and district-based staff in alignment with strategic plan initiatives and literacy best practices. Leverages and leads best practices in change management and implementation science to support ongoing improvements and refinements to literacy instruction in alignment with state standards and science of reading research PK-12.
Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional leadership, advocacy, and advise on PK-12 literacy standards, content area curriculum, literacy assessment, and/or high quality instruction.
- Lead and coach TOSAs on the literacy team in their work coaching and supporting schools PK-12.
- Lead, plan, & facilitate BVSD advisory groups as they relate to PK-12 literacy.
- Create, design, lead, coordinate, and/or facilitate content area professional learning sessions PK-12 for school-based and district-based staff, including ongoing learning and support for literacy interventionists K-12.
- Leverage best practice in change management and implementation science to support PK-12 standards-based instruction using district approved curricular & assessment materials.
- Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data in collaboration with principals and network Executive Directors PK-12 through instructional walkthroughs, assessment data analysis, examining student work, and educator feedback. Use data to determine clear next steps.
- Lead and support district-level strategic plan initiatives that align with literacy PK-12.
- Represent BVSD at state-sponsored events and connect with other literacy professionals across the state and nation to support continued improvement and refinement of practice.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Master’s Degree plus additional coursework required for certification or licensure in a major pertinent to the position requirements
- Colorado Department of Education Administrative License
- Minimum of three years experience in Content area experience leadership role types
Preferred:
- PK-12 Principal experience
Salary Information:
Salary Range 12: $110,595.00 - $165,947.00
Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
- Pay range listed above is for employees newly hired to BVSD or current BVSD employees that are new to the employee group (existing employees currently in this unit please refer to the pay range on the appropriate salary schedule). BVSD engages in a salary placement process vs. a salary negotiation process.
