Position Title:
Teacher Leader-Summer

Position Start Date: February 18, 2025

Position Type: Teachers-Licensed

Work Schedule: As Needed - Temporary through June, 26, 2025 - This will include oversight of one site as well as preparation and planning of an estimated 220 hours. There will be 2 required PD Meetings in the evenings after the regular school day has ended each month from February through May. (Dates and times will be communicated upon hire).

Stipend Amount:*$10,366.40 (This is based on working the full 220 hour contract)

Summary:

The 2025 Summer Learning Program will provide eligible rising Kindergarten through 8th grade students intervention in reading and math, pre teaching of Science/Social Studies units, SEL, and specials.

The program will run Full Days for 7 hours Monday through Thursday, from June 2nd, 2025 through June 26, 2025 (there are no classes on Thursday, June 19th) at the following sites:

  • Rising K: All Elementary sites
  • Elementary Sites: Birch, Columbine, Creekside, Sanchez
  • Middle School Sites: Angevine

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and Preparation: Facilitates learning experiences and teaches the course of study as outlined by the District approved curriculum; utilizes innovative and differentiated instructional strategies to meet individual needs and motivate students; and plans and develops an engaging, age-appropriate course of study in the classroom using the approved District instructional model and adhering to state and school district curriculum guidelines.
  • Assessment: Utilize a Data Driven Instruction and Inquiry (DDI) model to systematically improve student learning; assess student proficiency using formal and informal assessment tools; differentiate assessments based on individual needs; provide timely feedback and targeted interventions; plan and consistently deliver instruction that draws on results of student assessments; anticipate student misconceptions and plan lessons accordingly; report grades.
  • Learning Environment: create and foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment in which all students see themselves represented in the classroom and understand the behavioral expectations; implements procedures and routines that maximize student learning; respond to student misconduct in a respectful manner using restorative practices; actively seek a variety of perspectives; demonstrate mutual respect for peers and adults in a variety of contexts; and communicate and involve parent/guardians in all aspects of their child’s education.
  • Equity: create and support a culture of equity and inclusion that values, accepts, and understands diversity and the impact of culturally responsive practices. Understand and identify barriers in classroom instructional practices that contribute to disproportionate outcomes for underrepresented groups of students.
  • Parent/Family Connections: develop positive relationships with parents/families; encourage parental involvement in students' education and ensure effective communication with students and parents; provide proactive, clear and constructive feedback to families about student progress and work collaboratively with the families and significant adults in the lives of their students; and foster two way communication with families.
  • Continuous Learning: exhibit a growth mindset through participation in high quality professional learning; actively participate in the evaluation process through goal setting, reflection, and development of new strategies and techniques.
  • Collaboration: participate in reflective dialogue with colleagues, focused on student learning, to enhance student learning and utilize shared values and norms to facilitate discussions in which all participants have a voice and contribute to the common goal. Collaborate with special education, CLDE, and GT teachers to provide meaningful inclusion and/or extension opportunities for students.
  • Ethics: act ethically and professionally in personal conduct, relationships with others, decision-making, and collaboration; place children at the center of education and accept responsibility for each student’s academic success and well being.
  • Safety: supervise students in the classroom, halls, recess, before/after school duty, etc.; and enforce safety and security standards set by the District.
  • Follow State legal requirements, negotiated agreement, and District and building policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:


Required:

  • Currently hold a Colorado teaching license
  • Completed and submitted BVSD on-line application

Preferred:

  • Principal License and/or currently enrolled in a Principal Licensing program
  • First Aid/CPR Certificate
  • CLD or CLD Bilingual Endorsement
  • Bilingual Spanish/English
  • Previous experience as teacher leader and/or building administrator

Salary Information:

BVSD engages in a salary placement process vs. a salary negotiation process. This information is provided in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and is the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range and benefits offered for this position. The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience and education. All salaries are set by Human Resources based on a review of qualifications compared to the requirements on the job description; therefore listing all related education and experience on your application is recommended.
