Department: Pre-Op/PACU
Reports to: Pre-Op/PACU Manager
Schedule/Type: FT - onsite/hourly
Wage: $18-25/hr, commensurate with experience

Requirements
Essential Duties
- Patient Care: Provide direct patient care in accordance with established care plans. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, and mobility
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Record and monitor vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiration rate. Report any deviations from normal values to the nursing staff
- Assessment and Documentation: Conduct regular patient assessments and accurately document patient information, including changes in condition, vital signs, and activities performed
- Support to Medical Staff: Assist nurses and healthcare professionals in medical procedures, treatments, and examinations. Prepare and maintain medical equipment and supplies.
- Patient Support: Provide emotional support and companionship to patients. Foster a compassionate and caring environment to enhance patients’ well-being.
- Safety Measures: Ensure patient safety by adhering to infection control protocols, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with fall prevention and repositioning techniques.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to convey information, report changes in patient condition, and ensure continuity of care.
- Compliance: Adhere to legal and ethical standards of practice. Maintain patient confidentiality and follow established healthcare policies and procedures.
Experience Required:
Previous experience in a healthcare setting as a CNA, 1 years preferred.
Education/Certification requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program.
- CPR and BLS certification
Skills:
- Knowledge: Understanding of basic nursing procedures, medical terminology, and infection control practices.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Compassion: Compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine desire to care for others.
