Job Description: Fitness Instructor
Hours: TBD
Reports to: Yoga and Fitness Manager
Compensation: Hourly per class; $23.33-$33.33/hour dependent on experience
BP fitness instructors are masterful teachers who consistently deliver an engaging,
dynamic, sweaty and inspiring experience for BP members and guests. They are aligned
with BP core values, philosophy and vision of BP fitness. Fitness instructors cultivate an
engaging community, powerful human connection and an environment of inspiration,
empowerment, and fun. They are team players and have a “being of service” attitude.
Essential Duties
● Creative Movement - create thoughtful and safe sequencing consistent with
MBP’s class offerings: Core, HIIT, Barre, Strength and Strength for Climbers.
● Effective Communication - teach dynamic, sweaty, fun and inspiring fitness
classes.
● Inclusivity & Community - welcome all participants, cultivate community, and
provide options for all fitness levels and abilities (regardless of class title)
● Demonstrate and clearly cue exercises and movements when necessary
● Interact with students, answer questions, introduce/orient new students,
generate and maintain a positive fitness experience
● Be professional - show up early and prepare for all fitness classes. This
includes starting and finishing classes on time
● Maintain the cleanliness of the studio space, fitness equipment and props
● Value teamwork - find a sub to cover your class in the event you are not able
to teach.
● Be available to help by subbing for other BP fitness instructors
● Respond appropriately to any emergency situations that may arise
● Perform other duties as assigned
● Attend mandatory team meetings and continuing education trainings
● Ensure class headcount is correct
● Maintain up-to-date certification at all times of employment under BP.
Required Qualifications
● Nationally accredited Current Certification: Personal Training or Group Fitness (ACE, NASM, et al)
● Current CPR/AED certification and basic first aid training
● Minimum of 1 year experience teaching fitness classes
Preferred Qualifications
● Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field
● CSCS Certification
● 2 years experience teaching fitness classes
● 1 years of experience as a personal trainer
