GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR
Group Exercise instructors at Bouldering Project are responsible for programming and facilitating BP’s group fitness classes. Instructors must be high energy and must be able to teach a wide variety of fitness class formats and must be capable of facilitating groups of up to 20 people at a time to provide BP’s members with a quality exercise experience.

Yoga instructors at Bouldering Project are masterful teachers who consistently deliver an engaging, dynamic, sweaty and inspiring experience for BP members and guests. They are aligned with BP core values, philosophy and vision of BP yoga. Yoga instructors cultivate an engaging community, powerful human connection and an environment of inspiration, empowerment, and fun. They are team players and have a “being of service” attitude.

Essential Duties
- All BP Yoga and Fitness Instructors:
- Be professional and welcoming- show up early and prepared for all classes. This includes starting and finishing classes on time
- Maintain professionalism at all times that is consistent with industry standards in regards to interacting with participants, conducting safe classes, and keeping a professional appearance. Show up early and prepared for all fitness classes and start and finish all classes on time.
- Find a sub to cover class in the event you are not able to teach, and be available to help by subbing for other BBP trainers.
- Respond appropriately to any emergency situations that may arise
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Attend mandatory team meetings and continuing education trainings
- Check students into class before the start of the class, ensure class headcount is correct
- Fitness instructor:
- Write and facilitate 30-60 minute group fitness classes that are consistent with Bouldering Projects’s class offerings (Strength, Bootcamp, Pilates, HIIT, Core, Functional Fitness, ETC…).
- Clearly communicate and coach proper movement patterns and provide modifications for all fitness levels.
- Create a high energy group fitness experience for BBP class participants.
- Interact with participants, answer questions, introduce/orient new participants, generate and maintain a positive exercise experience.
- Yoga instructor:
- Create thoughtful and safe sequencing consistent with BP’s class offerings (Hot): Power Flow, Flow, Restore, Mobility
- Effective Communication - teach dynamic, sweaty, fun, and inspiring yoga classes.
- Inclusivity & Community - welcome all participants, cultivate community, and provide options for all fitness levels and abilities (regardless of class title)
- Demonstrate and clearly cue yoga poses when necessary
- Offer hands-on assists in a physically and emotionally safe way and only with consent to improve the quality of member and guest experience
- Interact with students, answer questions, introduce/orient new students
- Maintain the cleanliness of the studio space and yoga props
- Current CPR/AED certification and basic first aid training.
- Minimum of 1 year experience teaching in a group exercise/yoga environment along with demonstrated knowledge of group exercise principles and safe exercise techniques
- Current Personal Trainer or Primary Group Exercise Instructor Certification from select accredited certifying bodies such as but not limited to ACSM, ACE, NASM, NSCA, ISSA, or AFAA.
- Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Instructor 200-hour level or higher
- Climbing experience not required, but it is a plus.
