Responsibilities of the Interior Architect :
- Client Consultation - Meet with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budget for their residential project; Provide professional advice on design concepts, space planning, and architectural styles collaborating with Team.
- Design Development - Create conceptual designs for residential buildings, ensuring they meet both aesthetic and functional requirements; Develop floor plans, cabinetry and millwork elevations, electrical plans and 3D models using design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit).
- Site Analysis - Conduct site visits to assess the physical characteristics and constraints of the property; Ensure the design complies with zoning laws, local building codes, and environmental regulations.
- Building Code Compliance - Ensure that all designs meet local building codes, health and safety regulations, and energy efficiency standards.
- Collaboration with Contractors - Work closely with general Project Manager to ensure that designs are translated accurately during construction; Review construction progress and make adjustments to plans as needed.
- Project Management - Manage the timeline and budget for the project; Coordinate the preparation of construction documents and permits; Communicate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and local authorities.
- Sustainability Considerations - Incorporate sustainable design principles, such as energy-efficient materials and eco-friendly building techniques, where possible.
- Interior Layout and Design - Develop interior layouts and help select finishes, fixtures, and furnishings that complement the overall design vision
- Problem-Solving - Address design challenges and make adjustments to ensure practicality and cost-effectiveness.
- Presentation - Present design concepts to clients and stakeholders using visuals like sketches, renderings, and presentations; Make revisions based on client feedback and approval.
