Job Overview
Responsible for the daily activities of the laboratory under the guideline of ISO and Quality System. To ensure test results are delivered on time and in accordance with ISO guidelines. To collaborate with the technical team in research and test development, coordinate the oil management. Maintain the quality system of Woodland to ensure full and ongoing compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Carry out the test as required on time.
- · Ensure samples are taken, recorded, and stored as per SOPs.
- · Follow experimental protocols, maintain records in accordance with ISO guidelines.
- · Ensure and maintain the level of accreditation and good performance of the laboratory (ISO, AOCS, etc)
- · Maintain and make minor adjustments to laboratory equipment. Ensure equipment maintenance and qualification is taken place.
- · Develop new methods/tests to increase the laboratory portfolio.
- · Comply with biohazard/radiation safety standards through proper handling of potentially hazardous chemical and/or radiation sources in the workplace.
- · Monitor inventory levels, orders materials and supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- · Assist with lab budget.
- · Customers liaison. Ensure client satisfaction.
- · Active communication with all staffs/departments
- · Ensure the appropriate level of hygiene is maintained in the laboratory area.
- · Supplier liaison (quotes, timely servicing/calibration of equipment, etc)
- · Ensure continued improvement of all our policies and procedures.
- · Implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of QA policies and procedures to ensure full and ongoing compliance with regulatory standards.
- · Ensure compliance to all applicable quality codes.
- · Assist in the maintenance of the Risk Management Process.
- · Develop, deliver and/or coordinate relevant short course training programs in related QA areas, as required.
- · Train and motivate staff to comply with all quality requirements.
- · Participate in Lab QA audits at regular intervals as and when required.
- · Respond to the auditor, generate, follow up and close the corrective action if needed.
Qualifications
- · Bachelor’s degree in science, Food or Chemistry preferred but not essential.
- · Previous work experience working in a similar environment or role essential.
- · Ability to problem solve with good organisational skills.
- · Superior attention to detail with proven ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
- · Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills.
- · A self-starter with strong initiative, enthusiasm and drive who anticipates and solves problems.
- · Ability to work in teams, collaborate effectively and develop good working relationships with both internal and external team members.
