Cobram Estate Olives Limited (CBO) is searching for an energetic and enthusiastic Field Operations to join our dynamic team. This role is responsible for.

The Role: The role will be based at CBO’s Groves. Responsibilities will include (but not limited to) the following activities:

Skills & Experience

The Operations Specialist will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and economical operation of all areas throughout the Harter Avenue site and related tasks as directed, and to ensure the integrity of the product being produced as per food safety and quality requirements. The Warehouse specialist will ensure the company is compliant with all HS&E and QA protocols related to the job they will also be required to become highly competent in all aspects of the Harter Facility this includes, Bottling, Warehouse, Tank farm, and Processing.

Key Tasks

  • Assist in all aspects of the warehouse and processing/tank farm - this will include the safe and efficient operation of associated plant and equipment.
  • Undertake the loading and unloading of bulk oil shipments via tankers, pallecons, and drums.
  • Blending of oils as per instructions from the Technical Department.
  • Shipping and receiving support.
  • Ensure oil is available in the day tanks for daily production.
  • Ensure all Tank Farm documentation is filled correctly and timely.
  • Observe all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) issues. Maintain housekeeping and ensure work areas are kept in a safe and organized condition at all times.
  • Monitoring the plant Wastewater system's chemical usage and system efficiency.
  • Basic preventative and reactive maintenance of Tank Farm and Wastewater.
  • Adhere to all food safety and quality requirements, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Safe Quality Food (SQF), and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), FDA/FSMA
  • Performs preventative maintenance inspections and service on machines.
  • Thoroughly clean machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling, as necessary.
  • Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
  • Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Picking and packing of orders.
  • Assembling orders for daily dispatch.
  • Forklift operation for receivals, dispatch and bottling line as required.
  • Liaising with administration, bottling and management staff.
  • Assisting with the safe and efficient operation of the bottling line.
  • Continue to improve and develop systems, procedures, and warehouse operations efficiency.
  • Observe all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) issues. Maintain housekeeping and ensure work areas are always kept in a safe and organized condition.
  • May be required to assisting in the bottling line as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 2-3 years of experience in similar role
  • Must have 2-3 years of forklift experience.
  • Technology savvy with skills in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Class C License required.
  • Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills
  • Musts be open to a flexible work schedule during harvest season (12 weeks out of the year).
  • Employee must be available during harvest season to work 12-hour shifts/6 days a week.
  • May be required to be at different job sites at managements discretion.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolong periods standing and walking.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Tolerate extreme temperatures (especially heat) for 8-12 hours a day.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
