QUALIFICATIONS: Level I or Level II Coach (guidelines of KHSAA)
Previous playing experience is desired (college level)

REPORTS TO: The Head Coach, in conjunction with the Athletic Director and Principal.
SUPERVISES: Athletes and teams assigned to him/her and may have supervising control over all athletes in program when such control is needed.
JOB GOAL: To carry out the aims and objectives of the sport program as outlined by the Head Coach. To instruct athletes in individual and team fundamental, strategies and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists the head coach in carrying out his/her responsibilities.
- Works within the basic framework and philosophy of the head coach.
- Attends all staff meetings and carries out scouting assignments as outlined by the head coach.
- Helps in the planning and implementation of both in-season and out-of -season conditioning and weight programs.
- Strives to improve skills by attending clinics and using resources made available by the head coach.
- Never criticizes, admonishes or argues with head coach or any staff member within ears or eyes of players or parents.
- Attends all practices and contests as scheduled by the head coach.
- Performs such other duties that are consistent with the nature of the position and that may be requested by the head coach.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To assist the head coach in areas outlined dealing with equipment, student responsibilities and other administrative duties.
- Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies approved by the KHSAA and the State Board of Education. *any other policies and/or duties as prescribed by the Local Board of Education.
- Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all student and parent requests or grievances through proper channels. Is aware of all staff departmental meeting that require attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work day to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
