Responsibilities:
- Welcome and greet guests as they arrive at the restaurant
- Escort guests to their designated tables and provide them with menus
- Assist in seating guests during busy periods and manage the waitlist
- Take reservations over the phone or through online platforms
- Answer phone calls and provide information about the restaurant's offerings
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries and concerns
- Collaborate with the kitchen and waitstaff to ensure smooth dining experience for guests
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/host station
Skills:
- Previous experience in a similar role in the food service industry is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction
- Excellent communication skills to interact with guests and team members effectively
- Knowledge of restaurant operations and ability to assist guests with menu selections
- Familiarity with POS systems, such as Toast, for order entry and payment processing
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations during busy periods while maintaining a positive attitude
- Strong organizational skills to manage reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in guest information and table assignments
