Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and assist patients in the PHP setting, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Monitor patients' behaviors, emotions, and responses to treatment interventions, reporting any significant changes to clinical staff.
- Facilitate psychoeducational groups, therapeutic activities, and skill-building exercises as directed by clinical staff.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary.
- Assist with daily program operations, including patient check-in, meal coordination, and transportation (if applicable).
- Document patient interactions, behaviors, and participation in accordance with program policies and procedures.
- Support patients in developing and practicing coping skills, emotional regulation, and socialization strategies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including therapists, psychiatrists, nurses, and case managers.
- Ensure adherence to all facility policies, HIPAA regulations, and ethical guidelines in patient care.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Assist with taking referral information, reviewing with clinical staff, running insurance, and scheduling initial intake appointments with clinicians.
- Follow up with patients regarding their attendance and communicate concerns to the clinical team .
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in a behavioral health, mental health, or substance use treatment setting preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in crisis situations.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and behavioral interventions is a plus.
- Must have strong customer service skills
- PHP setting with direct patient interaction in a structured, therapeutic environment.
- Potential exposure to individuals in emotional distress or crisis.
- Requires sitting, standing, and occasional physical intervention within safety protocols.
