Job Title : Assistant General Manager

Reports to : General Manager

YogaSix was established in 2012 and is the fastest growing boutique yoga company in the United States.

POSITION :

The Assistant General Manager assists the General Manager in overseeing the designated studio(s) to ensure the studio is well-maintained and that customer service standards are upheld to YogaSix standards. He / she will help oversee all aspects of studio functionality including Sales and Operations as well as the direct supervision of Wellness Advisors and Teachers. He / she must have strong customer service skills, knowledge of PC computers, able to communicate in an effective and efficient way, be team-oriented and have a drive and passion for sales and service.

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

  • Sales & Management Experience

1 years of retail / service sales or fitness sales experience

  • Confident in generating personal sales and training Front Desk Sales Associates in sales
  • Work with the General Manager to ensure health and profitability of the studio.
  • Proven experience in generating and following up on leads
  • Communication & People Skills
  • Must be fluent in English and have excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills in person, on the telephone and via email

  • Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers, clients and the general public
  • Ability to stay calm at all times and act respectfully and professionally, even with customers who may voice frustrations
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Solid writing and grammar skills

  • DUTIES

  • Revenue Generation : A studio (yes, even a yoga studio) is a business. Therefore, the primary focus of the studio’s Assistant General Manager is to help manage and grow all revenue streams including :
  • Memberships and Class Packages

  • Retail
  • Workshops, Privates and Teacher Trainings
  • Student Acquisition and Retention : A successful studio depends on supporting prospective students through the following life cycle, the Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in :
  • Lead Generation

    Generating consistent lead flow through a blend of GrassRoots Marketing, Social Media, and Referrals

  • Booking Appointments
  • Contacting leads in a timely manner to establish relationship and get them booked in for a class experience

  • Membership Sales
  • Following a successful initial class experience, presenting best membership option based on the student’s goals

  • Retention
  • Ensure new members are onboarded properly and continue to feel value of membership through both utilizing classes and ensuring class quality is exceptional

  • Marketing : execute marketing plan based on studio needs with a focus on new client acquisition, activation, retention and loyalty
  • Support / participate in Grassroots Marketing partnerships on a weekly basis to drive new guest traffic

  • Social media management
  • Leadership
  • Supervise, coach, mentor all front des sales associates

  • Studio Operations
  • Manage maintenance issues, inventory and cleaning

  • Participate in studio, regional and company-wide meetings and trainings as needed
  • Work closely with Studio Owner and General Manager to ensure health and profitability of the studio

  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Employee must be able to work hours that may exceed 8 hours per day and / or 40 hours per week including nights and weekends, especially during peak activity periods.
  • May be required to sit or stand for up to four hours at a time. May be required to reach with hands and arms. Must be able to bend, lift, kneel, and drive a car. This job requires the person to climb up and down flights of stairs as elevators are not present at all locations. May be asked to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus
  • Must be able to effectively hear in person and via telephone

  • SKILLS YOU WILL LEARN :

    Successful Assistant General Managers develop a broad and marketable skill set through their time in this role that are very transferable throughout the boutique fitness space, as well as many industries outside of the fitness industry. AGMs are able to promote their sales skills, management experience, impact in marketing and the lead generation process, operations, and client care. This is an excellent position if your goal is to ultimately manage a boutique fitness space, or to develop these skills to be applied in other industries
