Job Description

Our client in the metro Detroit area is experiencing tremendous growth and is looking for a Senior Marketing Research Manager-Ad Hoc Quantitative to join their team!

The primary role of a Senior Research Manager is to manage complex research projects independently from start to finish.

Responsibilities include: Overseeing all phases of the research process as well as client management and development and may provide assistance in proposal preparation. Developing trust with our clients is essential. Senior Research Manager is expected to have exposure to a variety of industries and research methodologies and have excellent project management skills, take ownership of the project’s success and have the desire to learn, grow and be challenged.

Primary Responsibilities:

 Manage complex, custom ad hoc/proprietary studies independently from start to finish May write and price proposals with assistance from Account Strategist/Consultant Determine study designs; design complex surveys Create analysis plan for complex studies Embrace storytelling process and creates impactful reports Present study results independently Monitor and remain accountable for financials on a project basis Foster strong client loyalty through exceptional project execution and client service skills Manage clients (i.e., strong client interaction skills) Train clients in various research methodologies and provide research recommendations to clients Ability to generate additional business Aid in the development of employees Train, coach, mentor and develop junior project team members May provide internal training to the company Successfully lead a project team(s)

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or other related field

Minimum of 5 years custom ad hoc/proprietary research experience required

Supervisory Responsibilities: May mentor and/or supervise Research Interns, Research Coordinators, Senior Research Coordinators or new senior level employees. Performance Skills Required Strong storyteller – extracts the data that matters, make sense of the information and convey the story in a compelling way Demonstrates genuine sensitivity, humility, support and encouragement for others Positively accepts and adjusts to change as it occurs within the organization When presenting, commands the attention of the room, and has the ability to influence others Able to set goals for self and team and is able to execute successfully against them and hold others accountable for their goals Communicates ideas in a way that persuades others to buy-in and take action Possesses a thought-leadership mindset along a with strong inner drive and ability to connect the dots Acts as a mentor for junior staff and reinforces company values internally Cultivates trusted relationships and a collaborative team environment Excellent project team leadership skills (i.e., motivating team members, mentoring others) Understands clients' business objectives and ties back to the study at hand Demonstrates well-rounded research skills (i.e., strong quantitative (statistical), qualitative, analytical and report writing skills) Able to discuss complex business and research issues with clients independently Possesses a strong knowledge of our business and industry knowledge and connects the dots within and beyond area of influence Easily builds rapport, is responsive, and gains trust with clients relative to project management abilities Effective communication skills, both written and verbal (adjust style to meet the needs of others) Successfully creates/manages the financial goals and profitability a project Consistently strives to be a thought-leader, deep thinker, and is able to easily collaborate with others (internally and externally) Courage to have a POV and is full of ideas and has strong strategic thinking and analytical skills Embodies company culture, HIPP core values and deliver on IMPACT pillars Unfailingly demonstrates professional maturity and calm confidence Consistently focused on doing great work that is highly accurate and demonstrate strong attention to detail Manages time efficiently, multi-task and problem solve  

Technical Skills Required

 • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

• SPSS skills required for quantitative oriented individuals
