Accounting Manager Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily accounting operations, including AP/AR, reconciliations, and journal entries
- Supervise and support a team of three accounting staff
- Monitor cash flow, determine wires/ACH payments, and oversee check-cutting processes
- Manage weekly payroll processing
- Handle business insurance renewals and financial relationships with banks
- Work closely with an outsourced CPA firm for financial reviews and compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end close
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation
- Prepare financial statements and other key reports for leadership
- 7-10 years of accounting experience, including hands-on work in AP/AR
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience managing accounting staff
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a small, privately owned business environment
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and critical thinking
- Strong communication and leadership skills with a team-first mentality
- Experience with Prophet21 accounting software is a plus
