An innovative HVAC company in Reston, Virginia is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper to oversee financial processes and ensure accurate accounting practices using GAAP standards. This role will be responsible for managing financial reporting, month-end close, bank reconciliations, and overseeing accounts payable and receivable. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial integrity, be tech-savvy, and possess excellent communication skills to interact with executives and the PE firm. This is an exciting opportunity to build out centralized finance functions while working collaboratively with leadership.

- Build and implement centralized finance and accounting processes
- Manage month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and financial reconciliations
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial reporting
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and tracking aging reports
- Produce monthly income statements and maintain financial records
- Process payroll through Paychex and integrate with QuickBooks
- Administer 401(k) plans and report contributions to Vanguard
- Monitor cash flow, conduct cash-on-hand analyses, and manage banking relationships
- Liaise with external CPA and tax professionals to ensure compliance with tax obligations
- Assist in driving process improvements for financial efficiency
- 3-5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles
- High attention to detail and exceptional data integrity
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, ServiceTitan, and Microsoft 365
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with PE executives
- Ability to adapt and implement new financial processes
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred but not required
