Criminal Defense Lawyer Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree with active Pennsylvania Bar membership
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in criminal defense, with substantial trial experience in state courts
- Prior experience in professional license defense or federal cases is a plus
- Strong client relationship management skills and the ability to maintain composure with a diverse client base
- Proficiency in legal software such as Clio, Westlaw, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Commitment to ethical practices and teamwork in a collaborative office environment
- Manage a high-volume caseload, including DUIs, drug offenses, and serious felony cases
- Conduct legal research, manage discovery processes, and prepare cases for trial with thoroughness and strategic insight
- Handle direct client communication to manage expectations and provide clear, ethical guidance
- Coordinate trial preparation, including compiling evidence, drafting motions, and strategizing defense arguments
- Collaborate with the internal team, utilizing Clio for case management and Westlaw for research, to ensure efficient and well-documented case progress
- Travel as needed within Pennsylvania for court appearances
