Director Of Tax And Asset Accounting Responsibilities

Director Of Tax And Asset Accounting Responsibilities
- Manage corporate tax compliance, including property and personal property taxes, and liaise with the IRS during audits
- Oversee asset accounting, including general ledger management, property evaluations, and financial reporting
- Evaluate and assess asset values, including casinos, liquor stores, and other properties, in collaboration with the CFO and ownership team
- Lead and support tax-related projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial processes
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to improve tax and asset accounting processes
- Supervise the Asset Accountant and collaborate with other department managers as needed
- Partner with the CFO on investments and financial planning for long-term growth
- Work cross-functionally to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting
- CPA or Master s degree is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on corporate taxes
- Proficiency in Excel
- Experience with Oracle is a plus
- Supervisory experience and experience working directly with the IRS
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex financial data
- Outgoing, collaborative personality with a willingness to learn and grow within a family-run business
