This role is essential in designing, programming, and maintaining advanced Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems for gas detection. The PLC Programmer will play a key role in ensuring the functionality, reliability, and compliance of gas detection systems across various industrial environments. They are looking for a responsible and consistent professional with strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and a proactive mindset. The ideal candidate should be capable of working both independently and collaboratively, handling multiple projects, and effectively communicating with clients and team members.
PLC Programmer Responsibilities :
- Write, test, and debug PLC code for gas detection systems using Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar platforms
- Ensure seamless integration of gas detectors with PLCs for real-time monitoring and control
- Diagnose and resolve PLC, sensor, and system-related issues to maintain uptime and reliability
- Perform system calibration to ensure accurate gas detection readings per industry standards
- Documentation & Compliance : Maintain clear, updated system configurations, as-built drawings, and PLC documentation for compliance and future reference
- Commission and debug systems on-site; 10% travel required, with some overnight stays
- Attend Teams meetings for project updates, coordinate with project managers, and support field technicians
- Submit weekly time sheets, expense mileage, and pick up parts from local suppliers as needed
