A well-established, family-owned real estate development firm based in Las Vegas, Nevada is currently seeking a skilled Project Accountant to support its growing portfolio of residential communities. This role is an integral part of the construction accounting team, working closely with the Controller to manage financial aspects of construction projects from initiation to closeout. The Project Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing budgets, processing AIA billings, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with contract terms. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in construction or real estate accounting.

- Prepare financial statements and job cost reports for assigned projects
- Manage loan draw budgets and assemble monthly draw packages
- Monitor and report financial activity on predevelopment projects
- Ensure accuracy in construction project forms and contract compliance
- Maintain change order requests to ensure accurate project budgets
- Track contracts and construction development progress, including budgets vs. actuals
- Reconcile projects to the general ledger and investigate discrepancies
- Prepare journal entries for corrections and reclassifications
- Collaborate with A/P, Purchasing, Forward Planning, and Project Managers
- Identify and resolve accounting issues proactively
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2-5 years of accounting experience in real estate or construction
- Proficiency in Excel and Word
- Experience with a main-frame accounting system
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
