Position Responsibilities

• Manage the receiving operations and backroom flow following all Bow Street Market policies and standard practices
• Model exceptional customer service skills
• Break down grocery deliveries and stock product to the sales floor shelves, coolers, and freezers
• Carefully merchandise product to ensure an outstanding presentation for our guests
• Follow all stocking, pricing and cleanliness standards are followed
• Perform assigned tasks such as replenishing merchandise, rotating products, or setting up displays
• Process and merchandise all product with care, paying special attention to stocking, pricing, and cleanliness standards
• Work safely throughout every day and assist customers and team members with lifting when available
• Treat all associates with fairness, dignity, and respect
• Build positive relationships with the customers, vendors, and the community
• Foster productive relationships with all vendors
• Ensure associates are properly trained and perform performance conversations and yearly reviews
• Know and embrace the company’s history and use it as a catalyst for growth.

• Maintain excellent communication with the management team and all associates in the store.
• Use good judgment in the delegation, assignment, and follow-up required for the efficient performance of the department
• Ensure the security of the backroom and all receiving functions
• Ensure compliance with company security, safety, and food safety standards. Communicate any needed equipment repairs or maintenance work needed
• Keep work area free from debris and safety hazards
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the backroom and receiving areas.
• Treat all store information as strictly confidential
• Ensure the proper control of all store funds and company assets
• Maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance and follow the Bow Street Market personal appearance policy always
• Assist in special projects and perform other functions as assigned

Skills And Experience

• Understanding of business information systems, computer databases, and web applications.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. An understanding of retail store grocery, receiving, and store operations required. Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions – 18 years old. Demonstrated ability to learn tasks associated with the position, and the technical requirements of the job. Proven ability to develop individuals and a team to deliver exceptional levels of service and productivity. Ability to use computers and other communication systems required to perform the job functions. Ability to work an open schedule that meets the needs of the business.

Physical Requirements

• Perform repetitive grasping, pinching, squeezing and hand/arm motions
• Stand and walk 100% of the time
• Reach to shoulder level or overhead while lifting 30lbs on occasion.
• Frequent bending, reaching, grasping & lifting items at or above waist level
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds regularly, including overhead lifting, and up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Ability to push and pull carts weighing 200 pounds occasionally
