ROLE OVERVIEW: The Project Manager is responsible for managing aviation construction projects from start to finish, exceeding client expectations. They will plan, supervise, and work closely with the team to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and without exceeding expectations. The Project Manager will work independently and proactively to make decisions, focusing on delivering projects efficiently.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand and manage the Owner/Bowa contract and scope of services.
- Have knowledge and experience in aviation construction.
- Manage submittals and RFI processes with the Owner and A/E.
- Participate in constructability reviews and lead client implementations through design, testing, and sign-off.
- Support Project Superintendent with project survey setup and work alignment.
- Collaborate with the IS group to provide necessary tech support.
- Identify, plan, and manage critical success factors, contingencies, and roadblocks.
- Prepare internal and external monthly reports on cost, schedule, safety, and cash flow.
- Coordinate project controls with the Owner and design team.
- Lead jobsite safety and quality measures.
- Prepare and review bid packages, budget estimates, and change estimates.
- Ensure the project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and contract close-outs, is accurate and complete.
- Review shop drawings and samples for compliance.
- Proactively ensure customer satisfaction and expand project profitability.
- Formulate purchasing plans and maintain the integrity of the buyout process.
- Provide oversight for change management, cost reporting, and CPM scheduling.
- Facilitate client and internal meetings, tracking open issues and ensuring deadlines are met.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. (In lieu of degree: Minimum 10 years of Project Management/Engineering experience.)
- 2-3 years of aviation project experience.
- 7-10 years of construction project management.
- Leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet aggressive deadlines.
- Proficient in construction equipment, drawings, specifications, materials, and standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software (e.g., Procore).
