Job Title: Payroll Specialist

What You’ll Do:
- Process payroll accurately and timely on a weekly and bi-weekly basis for nearly 1,000 hourly, salary, and union employees
- Pull electronic timecards, analyze, make changes and edit for completeness and accuracy
- Set up weekly pay periods to properly expense the correct month for ledger updates; standard hours, days, and weeks; and pay period status information.
- Analyze, prepare, input and edit payroll data
- Post payroll daily to general ledger
- Complete layoff checks and/or field checks as needed
- Process voids timely and accurately
- Investigate and resolve any Payroll related issues
- Set up and maintain wage garnishments and child support deductions
- Process payment of garnishments and child support to proper agencies
- Complete wage requests generating fully burdened labor cost for union workforce relative to the type of job and duration
- Maintain HRIS and Payroll database with any necessary employee changes
- Perform other related administrative duties as necessary
Must-haves in a Candidate:
- 3 years of multi-state payroll experience
- In-house payroll processing experience
- Experience with high volume, fast-paced payrolls
- Union payroll experience a plus
- High attention to detail
- Effective time management skills
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time accurately and timely
- Proficient in Excel
