What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Access Supervisor position at Bowen Health?
The Access Supervisor will oversee the department responsible for patient experience, registration, utilization review, discharge planning, administrative, and environmental operations for the Psychiatric Hospital and Crisis Receiving and Stabilization Services.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Below are the primary duties and essential functions of an employee in this position. While not all tasks may be performed by every employee in this role, all employees are expected to perform related tasks as needed. - Provide leadership and oversight of the department.
- Assure staff are competent and provide excellent patient experience.
- Connect patients to Bowen Health outpatient clinic services.
- Provide utilization review of services provided to ensure patients receive necessary care.
- Work closely with leadership and clinical staff to ensure patients’ needs are met.
- Provide administrative assistance to all departments.
- Provide excellent customer service to external customers and providers.
- Coordinate communication between external contractors, administration, and leadership.
- Oversee environmental management and maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED. Associate’s Degree in business or healthcare related field preferred.
- Experience: Prefer two (2) years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Certificate or Professional License: Certificate in Revenue Cycle or Utilization Management preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and active auto insurance coverage.
- Satisfactory results from criminal and driving record background checks
- Must be a minimum 21 years of age.
