What are the responsibilities and job description for the Peer Recovery Coach position at Bowen Health?
Under supervision, the Peer Recover Coach (PRC) provides peer support services, serves as a consumer advocate, provides consumer information and peer support for consumers in emergency, outpatient, or inpatient settings. The PRC performs a wide range of tasks to assist consumers in regaining control over their lives and recovery process. The PRC will model competence in recovery and coping.
Qualifications
- Education: Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED and obtain CRS certification through ASPIN.
- Training: CPI/TCI, CPR, First Aid when functioning in a 24-hour treatment setting.
- Experience: Self-identify as a current or former consumer. Must be maintaining healthy recovery from mental illness and/or addictions. Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to meet written communication requirements. Must be able to verify completion of state-approved training program and passing score on certification exam.
