Bowen Machine Company is a 40-year-old, family-owned, ISO 9001:2015 certified business that is currently seeking an experienced and motivated CNC Machinist with CAD/CAM programming skills to join our team. This position requires the ability to independently write programs and set up CNC machines for production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining with at least 5 years of experience in CAD/CAM programming.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programming & Machine Setup: Independently write CNC programs using CAD/CAM software and set up machines for production runs.
  • Blueprint Reading: Read, interpret, and understand blueprints, shop drawings, worksheets, and other technical documents to complete tasks accurately.
  • Tooling & Procedures: Competently use tooling procedures and input programs from databases.
  • Feed & Speed Adjustments: Monitor machine feed and speed rates, adjusting as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
  • Production & Process Improvement: Meet production schedules and continuously improve cycle times, processes, setups, fixturing, and tooling to enhance efficiency.
  • Estimator & Supervisor Input: Provide feedback to estimators and supervisors on machine run times, fixturing, and tooling needs.
  • Quality Control: Inspect raw materials, finished parts, and equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Measurement: Use precision measuring tools such as tape measures, scales, calipers, depth gauges, and micrometers to ensure accurate parts.
  • Independence & Productivity: Work independently, staying productive with minimal direction from supervisors.
  • Housekeeping & Maintenance: Perform daily housekeeping of machines and the work area to ensure cleanliness and proper operation.
  • Overtime: Be willing to work overtime as needed to meet production goals.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience programming with CAD/CAM software for CNC machines.
  • Strong proficiency in reading blueprints and interpreting technical drawings.
  • In-depth knowledge of tooling procedures and CNC machine setups.
  • Experience with monitoring machine feeds, speeds, and adjustments.
  • Ability to meet production goals while improving processes and setup times.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, depth gauges).
  • Ability to work independently and be proactive in your work.
  • A strong commitment to quality and meeting deadlines.
