What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Prototype Machinist position at Bowers Precision?
Bowers Precision is a small machine shop that makes prototype aerospace hardware. We currently have one full-time machinist who works out of a garage. We specialize in difficult-to-machine hardware in small quantities. Many parts are one-off and fast turnaround.
As a machinist, you will be making parts to print with little supervision. You will be handed a drawing and a block of metal and be expected to return a finished product. You will run both CNC lathes and mills. Please do not apply if you aren’t comfortable making difficult hardware with little or no supervision. You will be responsible for the quality and accuracy of the hardware you produce. If you are an expert machinist who doesn’t like a boss looking over your shoulder, this is the job for you. If you only know how to push buttons when someone else does the programming, you will be frustrated and won’t make enough money.
