JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Therapy ensures quality and safe delivery of therapy in home health care. Coordinates services that reflect the Bowes In Home Care ’s philosophy and standards of care. Assists in planning, developing, implementation and evaluating Bowes In Home Care’s services, programs and activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A licensed therapist in IL
- Had home health experience at least 2 (two) years
- Has at least one (1) year of supervisory experience
- Demonstrated ability in or application of organizational/communication skills.
- Ability to deal effectively with high levels of stress.
- Ability to enlist the cooperation of many people in furthering a program.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check in accordance with the Health Care Worker Background Check Act (225 ILCS 46) and Health Care Worker Background Check Code (77Illinois Administration Code 955).
- Must submit to and have negative results in a drug and alcohol screen.
- Provide proof of a recent TB test with negative results if anticipated to perform patient care.
- Provide a copy of a health exam by a licensed physician no less than 12 months prior to the date of hire.
- Professional communicator, who can establish rapport with clients and deal with concerns and problems in a professional manner
- Must be eligible for employment in the United States.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures that the Agency is compliant with all applicable federal, state, local and Medicare laws and regulations
- Assists in employing qualified personnel and ensures adequate staff education and evaluations.
- Shares copies of philosophy with all employees.
- Consistently follows Bowes In Home Care policies and procedures to set an example for employees.
- Assists in formulating Bowes In Home Care ‘s Policy and Procedures manuals once per year for completeness and revision as needed per Medicare and state regulations.
- Assesses employees on an ongoing basis to ascertain their understanding of policies and procedures.
- Reviews therapy evaluation, notes, PT SOC/Transfer/Discharge and generating Care Plan, ensures MD Orders are in place, etc. to ensure appropriateness, completeness, in compliance and meeting Agency’s standards.
- Reviews visit utilization for appropriateness of care guidelines and patient conditions and prepare a report and present it to the Governing Body.
- Checks and submits Pre-Claim Review for Medicare clients and address rejections accordingly when there is any.
- Assists employees to support policies and achieve necessary changes.
- Uniformly enforces Bowes In Home Care policies and procedures and handles and find resolutions in a timely manner when problem occurs.
- Maintains two-way communication with employees and fair administration of personnel policies.
- Conducts patient case conferences, in-services, staff meetings and maintains documentation; participates in community education projects.
- Take part in the development of indicators with appropriate data collection, aggregation and analysis, taking action and reporting results according to Agency’s QAPI plan.
- May perform disciplinary actions and improvement plan to employees as necessary.
- Participates in personal professional growth and development.
- Help maintains effective channels of communication.
- Ensures Agency personnel have current clinical information and current practices.
- Evaluates services and programs.
- Ensures staff development including orientation, in-service education and continuing education.
- Coordinates with other program areas and management as appropriate.
- Maintains current knowledge of local trends and issue.
- Directs staff in performance of their duties including admission, discharge and provision of service to patients, and productivity.
- Assures appropriate staff supervision during all operating hours.
- May have to perform field duties when needed.
- Appoints a similarly qualified alternate to be available at all times during operating hours in the absence of the Therapy Coordinator.
- Accessible and available during Agency operation.
- Perform all other duties as determined by the Governing Body.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
